Requirements
We seek a highly skilled and motivated Manager IT Operations (Systems & Networks) to join our Telecom Foundation Head Office IT team. The Manager IT Operations (Systems & Networks) will manage and maintain the organization's computer networking infrastructure with following but not limited to responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the organization's computer networking infrastructure, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
Design, develop, and maintain the organization's digital infrastructure. This includes the servers, networks, and applications that support the organization's digital transformation.
Monitoring System Performance by tracking and analyzing system performance metrics, network traffic, and server availability, and identifying potential issues or bottlenecks.
Provide disaster recovery planning and execution. This includes developing plans for how to recover the organization's data and systems in the event of a disaster.
Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role.
Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
Manage and monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure smooth and uninterrupted network operations.
Managing and supervising the IT operations team, procurement of equipment, assigning tasks and providing guidance to improve team performance.
Manage and maintain computer hardware, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Manage and maintain the Databases of the Foundation and Schools under the Foundation.
Manage the team and vendors to deploy and maintain the organization's digital infrastructure. This includes to ensure that the infrastructure is up and running and that it is properly maintained.
Engaging with vendors and service providers to procure IT hardware, software, and services, and managing their contracts and relationships.
Provide technical support to the organization's users. This includes troubleshooting problems, training, and helping users get the most out of the organization's digital infrastructure.
Plan and implement security measures to protect the organization's digital assets. This includes implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, network enhancements, cybersecurity measures and other security measures to protect the organization's data and systems.
Manage the organization's IT budget. This includes tracking expenses, making purchasing decisions, and ensuring that the organization's IT budget is used effectively.
Work with other departments to ensure that the organization's digital infrastructure meets the entire organization's needs.
Document the organization's digital infrastructure. This includes creating documentation that describes the organization's infrastructure, how it works, and how to maintain it.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum of 6 years of working experience in a related field for candidates with a master’s or higher degree. Minimum of 8 years of working experience for candidates with a bachelor’s degree.
Preference shall be given to individuals with experience in hardware maintenance and database management/administration.
Hands-on experience with relevant computer hardware, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
Networking certifications such as CCNA, and CCNP are preferred.
Candidate must have strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, network security principles and have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
